TurreAn inland village of muslim origin dedicated to farming. Numerous restaurants specializing in regional food. A large part of the district of Turre is in the Sierra Cabrera, a mountain range of extraordinary beauty which is ideally suited to trekking. The ruins of the ancient hispanic and muslim villages of Theresa and Cabrera, the Cortijo Grande urbanization with its golf course, and the architecturally memorable urbanization in Cabrera. Places of interest :- The chapel of San Francisco de Asis, XVI century. Parish church, XIX century. Remains of old villages in Theresa and Cabrera . Archaeological sites. Sierra Cabrera and its scattered groups of old farm houses. Fiestas :- fiesta for the patron, San Francisco de Asis (3rd to 6th October). Dia de la Vieja (March). Santiago Apostol the gypsy fiesta (25th July). Summer fiestas (1st week in August). La Immaculada (8th December) Gastronomy :- regional dishes, such as gurrillos, olla de trigo, migas, pelotas, talvinas Handicrafts :- iron work, esparto grass weaving and tin work. Market :- fridays
